Organic Garden Set Up hydroponic tomatoes are growing in a hybrid aquaponic/hydroponic set up. The nutrient solution is derived from water from a fish holding tank and is then transfered to the individual static non circulating hydroponic buckets where the plants are suspended above the surface of the water to allow the roots to uptake oxygen from the air. I noticed a yellowing and later brown on some of the leaves and tested the nitrate level which was very low. Since then I have been feeding the Tilapia 3 times a day and changing the water in the buckets once a week. I have also begun adding lemon juice the decrease the ph and I have continued to add crushed iron and potassium vitamins to each pot. I removed the affected growth and the issue has not returned.
