    I've done this method before and it works very well but its a bit of overkill for that type of tile. We usually did this on old houses with an existing clay tile roof (U shaped tiles) that had leaks and needed new underlayment and the home owner wanted to save the old tile but also wanted to be sure it wouldn't leak for a very long time. A new felt and bat would have sufficed but this would easily last longer.

    thats mod bit . its done on flat too mostly on flat actually . but it can be done on residential aswell
    you can also get rolls that can be torched down to a base ply.. but that takes forever to install and carrys a big fire risk . and it can also be installed with cold process . a cold applied tar .
