It gives me an idea of what success looks like for a contractor. It's amazing how busy you are and how many people you meet on a daily basis. This coming from someone stuck behind a desk…

Please answer me this. I'm a young man starting out in Landscaping business taking up where my father left it. 2nd Generation family landscaping business. What advice do you have for me I'm 24 do all seasons ,snow, lawn, retaining walls, patios, and now we are getting more accounts for year-round packages. I love landscaping machines and all landscapers.
Thank you in advance. Your videos are great !!!

  • stanley122908

I really like how you explain everything so well. Im going to start a lawn mowing/maintenance service soon and pricing is the thing that has me worried the most. Great videos!!!

  • William Atkinson

I started my Bobcat service company in April and i love these videos. One thing i would like help on is understanding how to estimate boulder wall jobs, other jobs in the landscaping industry so i can make profit in all the work i do.

  • Greg Lee

Thanks Stanley. I am retiring at the end of the month as a Postmaster after 32 years and I have decided to cut grass as a second career. Fortunately because I get a pension and can start out with this second career slowly. Your videos have been really helpful to watch. Thank you for putting the together for us novices. Do you have a lawnmower maintenance video made. How to sharpen blades and grease the machines .

  • Gantz

Thanks for the video, stumbled across your vids a couple days ago. Been using them to unwind after hours. I find it interesting to see how others go about running their own company though you definitely keep a busier schedule then my typical work day. haha

  • Sal Rizzuto

Bro you're great. Awesome tactic for dealing with employees teaching them to think on their own. Thanks so much for taking the time to spread your wisdom from experience!

  • Declan kot

you charge the same way i charge for lawns which is a dollar a minute about lol, I found that interesting because everyone says i work for too cheap, talk about huge holes, I work for a town highway department during the summer too and when we ended up doing the septic for a school designed to hold 1000 teachers and students, that was fucking huge

  • Dan Krueger

these kind of videos help me the most.  Numbers along with a thought process gives great info.  This is real life 100% doggy dog bidding at its best.  One thing that you do that takes wisdom is you look at the job and you see how to bid it with steps taken out. Giving the price that gets the job, with options for more work keeping the price down at first feeling the customer out and getting the job.  The First job was priced perfectly with the yard dead spot because of trees.  One thing I do differently with jobs like this, is I write the bid on the job and get a signature to lock the job in and never come back until the job is done or have the guys pickup the check up with a receipt.                   These video are why your getting heat from your competition or other companies.  If you really want to help young companies this is how you do it.  Bidding and numbers.  I can't wait until you hit the plan rooms and county bidding areas. Show us how to get work out in the open market,  like churches- demo jobs, parks, city  and county.  Make it littler juicy jobs

We can only educate ourselves so far.  Sharing our experiences is a great educational tool. Experience is the ultimate teacher.  I also like to hear from other people who I can relate to in our mutual trial and trivilations, and success too!  Thanks for your videos Stan, tons of great info.

Whow!  Seeing the house on the second maintained job (@6:47) I was surprised that at first glance it looked like the house I grew up at in Yakima, Wa. (G.I. build 1953).
Let's see how similar it may be?  😉
As expected it's not even close but it was fun thinking that it may have been a similar G.I. build (possibly was).

  • Travis Vandling
